Centre of Creative Activities for Children

The Centres of Creative Activities for Children (KDAP) KYTTEA are educational institutions, where children aged 5-12 spend their time creatively, for a specific period of the day, outside of school hours.

In a pleasant, safe and friendly environment, children participate in individual and group activities and workshops, during which they play, have fun, learn, play sports, socialise, develop their creativity and imagination and acquire skills useful for their development.

All activities and workshops are designed and animated by specialised teaching staff: kindergarten and primary school educators, teachers of art, music, dance, robotics, Greek and English. What they all have in common is their love for children and learning.

Musical travels

Music is everywhere! We just need to look for it. In our music workshop we approach musical concepts and songs in a playful and interesting way for children. They are given the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of music through dramatization of sound, musical activities and games.

Dramatic play

Dramatic play, improvisation, role play, story dramatization, creative engagement with objects and the representation of dramatic art are the tools for children to explore their expressive means, to improve their ability to concentrat, and to become more extroverted. Through a series of specially designed games and activities, children develop the ability of self-expression, critical thinking, ingenuity, social and emotional awareness, perceptual ability, tolerance and imagination.

Stem - Educational Robotics

Children to get in touch with the world of science and new technologies through play and see the practical value of mathematics, engineering, technology and science in general.
Through simple constructions and comprehensible examples, children learn to plan, programme, experiment and finally solve complex problems, implementing thoughts, ideas and scenarios of their imagination.

Art Attack!

Through fun activities, children come in contact with different art practices from around the world and with the works of great painters. The little artists practise fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination by holding brushes, cutting with scissors and sculpting. Art attack activities include painting techniques, jewellery making, wool, sculpture and mosaic. Children also learn to use digital techniques with computers (algorithmic art, 3D drawing, drawing).
They discover new means and techniques that encourage their artistic expression and the development of their creativity.

Just Dance!

As we grow older, our mind fills with ideas, concepts, numbers but we forget something we have from the moment we are born: our body. The conscious use of movement allows children to discover the environment around them, to communicate and to get to know themselves and their bodies.
Our meetings are dominated by improvisation with basic elements from modern dance, working individually and in groups. The child takes initiatives, collaborates, creates, trusts and develops his empathy. And all this with the tool of body movement.

Work (out) together

By cooperating, children develop their social and cognitive skills. According to Vygotsky, through interaction children are led to a higher cognitive level than their current one. In Work (out) together children work in pairs or small groups to do different projects. At the same time, before or after the activity, they exercise in a playful and interactive way. The goal is for them to appreciate the value of collaboration and use it for the rest of their lives.

Fine motor skills

Or as our children call it, "fiddly work!" The goal is for children to develop their fine motor skills, all of the small movements of the small muscles of our body and especially of the hands. With fun challenges, children are asked to control these small but important muscles with as much precision, detail or strength as possible.

CINE KIDS

Children's favourite heroes of all times come alive before our eyes. Specially selected movies entertain, excite and make children think, helping themto understand situations, and to process ideas and values.

Sugar & Salt

A "delicious" and "colourful" workshop. Using children's imagination and creativity, we set sail for gastronomic trips, making recipes that children love. Cooking and pastry recipes are brought to life in the kitchens of KDAP by our little chefs, who are taught the value of a healthy diet.

"Live and learn," people say. That´s especially true for children, who swim in the sea of knowledge every day. Sometimes, however, this sea has storms and children need extra support. In this workshop, children develop their cognitive skills with support and guidance. Ready to swim in learning?

Sharpen your mind

The purpose of this workshop is to explore the mind´s possibilities and limits, to practise our logic, to focus and solve difficult puzzles, crosswords and riddles together. This is often achieved through improvised games that children themselves create with their most powerful weapon: creativity!

Environmental paths

In this workshop children explore human impact on the environment. They get acquainted with the concepts of "environment" and "recycling" and reuse all kinds of recyclable material in handmade crafts. Almost anything can be recycled and made useful again!

With enjoyable activities, games, dialogues and songs in English, children 5-7 years old come into contact with the foreign language, laying the foundations for their subsequent language development.

Reading Greek and foreign children's literature aims to promote reading and love for books. Through well-designed activities that develop imagination and critical thinking, children create their own stories and express their thoughts and feelings through writing or drawing.
